Americans are planning to spend an average of $935 during the holiday shopping season this year, according to the National Retail Foundation, with total retail sales projected to increase 3.6 percent from last year to a total of $655.8 billion.
We surveyed 2,000 Americans to get a better idea about what people are really thinking about preparing for and enjoying the holiday season this year, as well as where they stand on several aspects of buying and receiving holiday gifts.
