Frequently Asked Questions
The company that operates the Splender service has been acquired by Ebates. So the companies can focus on the cash-reward services provided by Ebates, the decision was made to discontinue the Splender service.
Shopping functionality on Splender is ending Thursday, March 30, 2017. Any shopping done after that date will no longer be cash back eligible.
All users who have specified a valid payment method will be paid their “available” cash back balance. If your balance is less than $10, then you are required to use PayPal to receive your payment. If you do not implement PayPal by June 30, 2017, and your balance is less than $10, then you will not receive your cash back balance.
We will continue to monitor pending transactions through June 30, 2017. Any transactions that move from a “pending” to “available” status by June 30, 2017 will be paid out (to users who have specified a valid payment method) by the end of July 2017. As noted above, if your balance is less than $10 at the end of June, then you must use PayPal to receive your payment.
If you haven’t provided valid payment information, we’ll be unable to pay out your available cash back balance.
Visit the My Profile page of your Splender account and check/edit the “Payment Settings” section. Please ensure that you’ve specified either a valid mailing address (for check payment) or a valid PayPal email address (for PayPal payment).

Always start your shopping at Splender to earn cash back on all your qualifying purchases. Browse hundreds of top stores. Click the deal or coupon you prefer. Complete your purchase at the store site as you normally would. We work with the store to track your purchase and the earnings are credited to your Splender account.
When you click on a store or offer through the Splender website, the store receives a tracking cookie from us. If you make a qualifying purchase, the store alerts us, we send you a confirmation email and give you the cash back for the purchase. For any specific questions about your purchase, however, contact the store directly as the purchase is made directly with the store, not Splender.
We rely on cookies that are placed when you click through from the Splender website to a participating store in order to track your qualifying transactions. Stores then pay commissions on these qualifying transactions, and we credit your account with the corresponding earnings.
View the store’s information page for specific details on the cash back amount you can earn and any applicable terms, conditions, or restrictions on the offer. The amount of cash back varies by store. Splender does not guarantee a specific amount, and the amounts can change at the stores discretion, so please read the store’s site for any additional restrictions.
After the store provides Splender with a confirmation of your purchase information, the cash back amount posts as “pending” to your Splender account. You’ll receive an earnings pending summary e-mail stating the amount of cash back you’ve earned for each qualifying purchase. This process typically happens 3-5 business days after the purchase.
Your cash back for Splender purchases will first appear on the “Recent Transactions” page on the Splender website as a pending transaction. Once the purchase has been confirmed eligible, it will be posted and eligible for redemption 45 days after original transaction date.
For additional information, please refer to the Splender Terms and Conditions.
Most cash back earnings are credited as pending within 3 to 5 days. Some stores, however, cannot confirm your purchase until the return period has elapsed and may take thirty days or more to confirm your cash back.
If it’s been over 30 days and you still haven’t seen the cash back you were expecting in your account, please contact Customer Care.
Pending Earnings – These are earnings which are currently within the 45-day hold period. There is a 45-day holding period from the date of purchase for every qualifying purchase. This allows stores to process returns, cancellations, reversals, and similar following the original purchase.
Available Earnings – These are earnings which are available for payment to you. Your available earnings balance must reach a minimum of $10.00, net of returns, cancellations, reversals, and similar before payment.
It varies, as each store has its own terms, conditions, and restrictions.
Some stores don’t offer cash back for all of their products and services – commonly excluded items are gift cards (and similar cash value items) and/or refurbished items. In addition, some manufacturers prevent stores from awarding cash back on specific products.
NOTE: For details about a specific store’s terms, conditions, and restrictions, search for the store by name and read the disclaimer on the store’s page. The terms and conditions will also be shown on a pop up screen after you click to visit an online store and before you reach the store site.
Don’t worry – all eligible coupon codes are provided on the Splender site and just need to be used at checkout.
NOTE: Best practice is to copy and paste the Coupon Code found on Splender to the store site.
Yes. The order is tracked when you click from the Splender website to the store site. As long as you complete your purchase before clicking away from the store’s website, your qualifying purchase will be eligible to earn cash back.
Members with Adblock or Adblock Plus (or similar browser extensions) installed on their computers may experience issues with consistently receiving their cash back for purchases made through Splender because it may interfere with our cookie, and as a result we may not be able to track your purchase.
Chrome, Safari, and Firefox Users: In order to ensure that you are properly credited with cash back for every qualifying online purchase made through Splender, please add or subscribe to the Splender filter list. This will allow proper tracking from Splender to affiliate network sites.
NOTE: We can only research orders that were made within the past 180 days. Stores will not address order inquiries that are older than 180 days.
Cash back earned with purchases are deducted if you return those purchases. If you return only part of the purchase, only cash back for those items returned will be deducted.
No, your cash back earnings do not expire. However, if your Program Account remains inactive for more than 24 consecutive months, we reserve the right to deduct an inactivity fee of $2.50 per month (from your Available Earnings balance) to cover account maintenance costs until the earlier of (1) your Program Account is active again, or (2) your Available Earnings balance is zero. Please see our Terms & Conditions for additional details.

When you visit a store’s website, the activate cash back prompt should pop-up only once per session. If the pop-up continues to show even after clicking on “Activate cash back” or “Skip,” please contact us.
During your current session, you can disable the prompt by clicking the “Skip” button.
The activate cash back prompt will only show when you land on a participating store’s website. A few of the stores we work with have opted out of Splender Plus. Visit Splender.com to see a list of all stores where you can earn cash back.
You will see a “Cash Back Activated” confirmation prompt on the top-right of the screen after you activate cash back. You will also notice a green checkmark on the Splender Plus icon when cash back is activated.
To check for coupons, click the Splender Plus icon after landing on a participating store’s website (available coupons will be displayed). To use a coupon code, copy it and paste into the appropriate spot on the store’s site during checkout.
